A Review of 2009 Part II: TVB 42nd Anniversary Award Results

Best Actor: Wayne Lai
Best Actress: Sheren Tang

Best Supporting Actor: Michael Tse
Best Supporting Actress: Susan Tse

Favorite Male Character: Wayne Lai
Favorite Female Character: Tavia Yeung

Most Improved Male Artist: Pierre Ngo
Most Improved Female Artist: Aimee Chan

Best Drama Series: Rosy Business

Another semi-surprising year where most of the winners are deserving of their win. Although the TVB awards are a bit predictable now (Rosy Business took home the majority of the awards), TVB is at least recognizing their talents. I'm a little surprised that Wayne Lai (he also won the Popularity Award) won three awards but he deserves them so no complaints there. I'm also glad that Tavia Yeung won two awards (she also won the Best Performance Award) since she really deserves them but I'm hearing some complaints so that's kind of sad for Tavia.

I wanted Sharon Chan to win Most Improved Female Artist but TVB is promoting Aimee Chan so no surprises there. I also really wanted Raymond Wong to win something but he's not really promoted.

I'm kind of iffy that Rosy Business won Best Drama Series since it wasn't the best drama for me this year but it's understandable.

I thought TVB would give the Lifetime Achievement Award to Chan Hung Lit (RIP) though.
