Meteor Garden

I have seen a couple episodes of the "Hana Yori Dango" anime and I loved it so I decided to give this a try since it is probably arguably the most popular Asian drama out there. MG was also the first drama I watched that was not TVB and it opened my mind in giving other dramas from other countries a chance. I think I like this drama not because of the cast but rather the plot so no matter how bad the acting was, I would still enjoyed this drama nevertheless. The first half was better than the second half since it was draggy and slow in the middle and near the end. The ending was rushed and left me wanting more since the manga was not completed and they were going to make a sequel to milk money.

Barbie Hsu: This is probably the only role I like her in since she was pretty good as the main heroine. I would have liked a better actress but she was the best actress for this role at that time. 4****

Jerry Yan: He did a better job in the second half of the drama since I didn't like his character until then. He was pretty good for his first time acting. 4****

Vic Zhou: He was prefect for this role since I ended up rooting for him to end up with Barbie, which is weird since I rooted for Doumyouji Tsukasa to be with Makino Tsukushi in the anime and the Japanese live-action. Vic is Hanazawa Rui, which is why I couldn't imagine anybody else as this character. 5*****

Ken Zhu: Along with Vanness Wu, I find him to be a miscast since they both weren't attractive enough. Ken did an okay job but it's because he barely had any scenes. 3***

Vanness Wu: Same as Ken, he did an okay job. 3***

Rainie Yang: This is the role that made me become a fan since she was so adorable and sweet. It was sad that she was only in the drama for a little bit since she had to move away. 4****

Barbie+Jerry: They were cute together but I was never really a die hard fan of them. 4****

Barbie+Vic: I liked their characters together better but like with Jerry, I was never really a die hard fan of them either. 4****

Ken+Rainie: Ken looked too old for Rainie that it was kind of gross. I would of like the characters they portrayed to be together but not them in real life. 2**

Vic+Winnie Qian: They look okay together and I would have like for Vic to at least end up with somebody. 3***

OST: All of the songs were pretty good, especially the themesong by Harlem Yu. 5*****

Rating: 4**** I would have given this a higher rating but after watching "Hana Yori Dango" live-action, "Meteor Garden" failed in comparison. Nevertheless, it is still a good drama by itself if you can ignore the bad acting and clothing.
